As an information security professional, he is well versed on the complete information assurance process: assessment of risk and need, gap analysis, and solution development. He has worked with Carnegie Mellon’s Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Center (CERT/CC), the US Department of Homeland Security, and is a retired US Air Force officer. In his final assignment, he served at the Join Task Force for Computer Network Operations (JTF-CNO) as the Directory of the Technical Analysis Branch.

He was also an adjunt professor at George Mason University, teaching a graduate course in Network Security Fundamentals. Over his career, he has presented taslks at the Joint & Combined Information Warfare School, the Joint Counter Intelligence Training Academy, the British House of Lords, and the (US) National Infrastructure Advisory Council, to name a few.
